Ava Marie Carper

Ava Marie Carper, age 69 of 6th Street, Moorefield, WV passed away Wednesday morning, August 9, 2017 at the Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg, WV. Born on September 5, 1947 in Philippi, WV, she was a daughter of the late Dorsey Shaffer and Lennie Maxine Wilmoth Shaffer. Her husband, Lewis Ray Carper, two brothers, a sister and a grandchild preceded her in death. Surviving are two sons, Lewis Ray Carper, II and Jackie Skidmore of Philippi, WV; two daughters, Rebecca Maxine Dickenson of Philippi, WV and Cheryl Rana Lantz of Moorefield, WV; a brother, Robert G. Shaffer of Philippi, WV; two sisters, Maxine Thompson of Philippi, WV and Mary Runner of Moorefield, WV; ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. All services are private per Avas request.
