Charles Edward Grapes

Charles Edward Grapes, age 81 of South Fork Road, Moorefield, WV, passed away Friday morning, November 11, 2016 at Blue Ridge Hospice in Winchester, VA. He was born on November 2, 1935 near Moorefield a son of the late Walter Blake Grapes and Bessie (Hose) Grapes. From the age of six, he was raised by Martha Maddie Wilson who predeceased him along with a brother and two sisters. He was the last member of his immediate family. He was a member of McNeills Rangers Camp #582, Sons of Confederate Veterans, a U.S. Air Force Veteran having served overseas in Morocco and a member of the Walnut Grove Church of the Brethren. Surviving are nieces, nephews, friends and special friends, Mark & Sally Malcolm his caregivers. A Funeral Service will be conducted 11:00 AM Monday, November 14, 2016 at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington Street, with Pastors Russell & Lucy Webster officiating. Interment will follow with Military Graveside Honors at the Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 - 7 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
