Geneva Gale Hefner

Geneva Gale Hefner, age 80 of Maple Avenue, Moorefield, WV passed away Friday morning, August 29, 2014 at her residence with her family at her side. Born April 7, 1934 in Martin, WV, she was the daughter of the late Charles John George and Ina Mable (George) George. She was a member of the Moorefield Church of the Brethren. A daughter, Bethy Jo Hefner preceded her in death. An admirer of sheep and camels, she enjoyed attending church and reading her Bible as well as listening to music while sewing or scrapbooking. She mostly adored spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren but she enjoyed most babysitting her grand-dogs. Surviving is her husband of 51 years, Raymond C. Hefner; three daughters, Libby & George Makely of New Market, VA, Chris Hefner & Abby Hefner of Moorefield, WV; six grandchildren, Amy & Mark Smith, Zackary Wolfe, Jordan Wolfe, Kullen & Erica Biller, Kylie Biller & Oliver Jones and two great-grandchildren, Isaiah Smith & Rachel Smith Funeral Services will be conducted 2:00 PM Sunday, August 31, 2014 at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington St., with Pastors Russell & Lucy Webster officiating. Interment will follow at the Old Pine Cemetery, Purgitsville, WV. The family will receive friends from 6 8 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
