John Monroe Hambleton

John Monroe Hambleton, age 90 of Winchester, VA passed away Thursday evening, February 27, 2014 at his residence. Born March 22, 1923 in Hardy Co., WV, he was the son of the late Monroe Lee Hambleton and Lula Florence (Dellinger) Hambleton. He was preceded in death by a son, a great-grandson, four brothers and three sisters. John Had retired from Plumly Lumber Corporation after 381/2 years, enjoyed working in his garden and he loved wildlife but mostly feeding the squirrels and birds. Surviving is his wife of 60 years, Leeanna Mary (Crites) Hambleton; two sons, Steve Hambleton (wife Susan) and Doug Hambleton of Winchester, VA; three daughters, Fay Watson (husband Ernie) of Front Royal, VA, Lisa Cleveland of Winchester, VA and Kelley Bryant (husband Jim) of Cross Junction, VA; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Graveside Services will be conducted 1:00 PM Sunday, March 2, 2014 at the Crites-Eye Cemetery, Rig, WV, with Pastor Brad Taylor officiating. Interment will follow. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
