Lawrence Edward Sherman

Lawrence Edward Sherman, Sr. age 76 of Central Avenue, Moorefield, WV, passed away Tuesday evening, April 10, 2018 at the University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville, VA. Born on April 22, 1941 in Cumberland, MD, he was a son of the late William Brook Jess Sherman and Georgiana Ruth Barr Sherman. A brother, Danny William Sherman also preceded him in death. Lawrence was a retired surveyor for the WV Department of Highways, a U.S. Army veteran, a member of the John M. Golliday Post #64 American Legion, a member of the Denney-Moyers-Pratt Post # 9606 V.F.W. and a member of the Moorefield Lodge # 29 A.F. & A.M. Surviving is a son, Lawrence E. Larry Sherman, Jr. of Junction, WV; five grandsons, Grant McClellan Sherman, Stuart Lee Sherman, Hayes Reed Sherman, Lawrence E. Sherman, III and Jaxon Reese Sherman. Funeral Services will be conducted 11:00 AM Monday, April 16, 2018 at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington Street with Pastor Jeff Anderson officiating. Interment will follow with Military Graveside Rites accorded by the U.S. Army & Moorefield Veterans Honor Guard and Masonic Graveside Rites accorded by the Moorefield Lodge # 29A.F. & A.M. at the Kessel Cemetery, Kessel, WV. The family will receive friends from 4 7 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
