Lena Mae Ours

Lena Mae Ours age 87 of Mt. View Road, Purgitsville, WV passed away Wednesday morning, October 14, 2015 at her residence. Born July 17, 1928 in Petersburg, WV, she was a daughter of the late Jesse Edward Thorne and Lula Mae (Crites) Thorne. Her husband of 52 years, Ervin Ours preceded her in death in February 1996. Two sons, Roger Ours & Bobby Ours, two sisters and two brothers also preceded her in death. A devout farmer, she milked the cows in her younger years, gathered eggs in the poultry houses of her family, but most of all she loved and adored her family. She attended the Rig Assembly of God Church when her children were younger and later attended the Mt. View Community Church. Surviving are six sons; Roscoe Ours, Larry Ours, James Ours, Delmas Ours, Randy Ours & Michael Ours all of Purgitsville, WV; six daughters, Linda Sherman & Carol Ours of Moorefield, WV; Arletta Miller, Esther Runions of Purgitsville, WV, Mary Barb of Old Fields, WV and Nancy Schwebel of Philadelphia, MS; three sisters, Ida Catherine Funk, Eveline Lofton & Edna Mae Dolly of Petersburg, WV; twenty-seven grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be conducted 2:00 PM Friday, October 16, 2015 at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington St., with Pastor Andy Sions & Alton Lee officiating. Interment will follow at the Mt. View Cemetery, Purgitsville, WV. The family will receive friends from 4 7 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
