Ronald Wayne Southerly

Ronald Wayne Southerly, age 86 of Old Fields, WV, passed away Tuesday evening, October 28, 2014 at his residence. Born September 9, 1928 in Hardy Co., WV, he was the son of the late Edgar Beaty Southerly & Blossie Chloe (Wolfe) Southerly. A US Army veteran, he was a life member of the Denny-Moyers-Pratt Post #9606 V.F.W. and a life member of the John M. Golliday Post #64 American Legion. He was a member of the Charity Baptist Church. Mechanically inclined, he was a retired welder for the Steel Industry and occupied his spare time by reading. An infant daughter, two infant sons, two brothers and six sisters preceded him in death. Surviving is his loving wife of 59 years, Genevieve G. (Kessel) Southerly, two sisters, Nancy Hambleton of Moorefield, WV and Roberta Porter of Petersburg, WV and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday, November 1, 2014 at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington St., with Pastor Jimmy Stump, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at the Bethel Cemetery, Old Fields, WV. The family will receive friends from 2 4 PM Friday, October 31, 2014 at the funeral home.
