Stanley Earland Applegate

Stanley Earland Applegate, age 73 of Bartow, WV formerly of Ghent, WV, passed away Monday morning, December 15, 2014 at the VAMC Martinsburg, WV where he had been a resident. Born July 18, 1941 in Ghent, WV, he was the son of the late Roy Lee Applegate and Vera Cerena (Sweeney) Applegate. A painter for most of his life, he was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War. Surviving are two daughters, Cynthia Applegate of Pasadena, TX and Stacey Applegate-Ledoux of Greenville, NC; three sisters, Pattie M. Fraley (Tom) of Moorefield, WV, Darfane L. Ramsey (Mike Richmond) of Cool Ridge, WV and Beebee D. Shrewsbury (Basil) of Odd, WV; a brother, Roy L. Zeke Applegate of Ghent, WV; three grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Committal Services will be held 1:00 PM, Monday, December 22, 2014 at the Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery where Military Rites will be accorded by the U S Marine Corps and the James E. Marshall Post #187 American Legion Honor Guard.
