Cecelia Zirk Tee (Turner) Reed, Age 69 of New Orleans, LA formerly of Moorefield, WV peacefully transitioned from this life into eternity at 5:00 AM on Tuesday, June 19, 2018. Born November 28, 1948 in Winchester, VA, she was the daughter of the late Wilson Cornwell Corney Zirk and the late Maude Estelle Nip Friddle Zirk. Cecelia was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Turk Reed in October 2012 and by her younger brother Wyatt B. Boo Zirk. Surviving is her biological daughter, Carla Turner De La Cruz of New Orleans, LA; three grandchildren, William Lewis (Brittney) of Pamplin, VA, Oralia De La Cruz Sciammetta (Anthony) of Prospect, VA and Coty Heiser of Richmond, VA; a brother, Joseph C. Joe Zirk of Moorefield, WV; a foster daughter; 3 step-sons; 8 step-grandchildren; a step-great-granddaughter; nieces; nephews and cousins. Her family was the center of her world and she was thrilled to learn that her grandson, William and his wife are expecting a baby in January. Ceceila, a very sentimental person, was famously opinionated and had a huge heart. She loved to watch the Walking Dead, read and tend to her flowers. She Graduated from Moorefield High School and attended the Tri State Beauty Academy. She was a cosmetologist for over 40 years and was the owner and operator of Hi Fashion Beauty Salons in Moorefield, Petersburg and Romney. She was an Economic Service Worker for WVDHHR, a past President of the Hardy County Board of Education and received the Pearl S. Buck Educational Award. She was a big supporter of the FFA, served on committees for the State of WV Board of Education and served as the Hardy County Service Unit Director for Girl Scouts of America. She was a member of the American Legion Post 64 Ladies Auxiliary for many years, a past member of the Hardy County Democratic Womens Club and a member of the Moorefield Presbyterian Church where she helped with the Jr. Choir in the 70s. She served as a sponsor for the Steelers Youth Football League Cheerleaders during the 80s. In her later years, Cecelia was an associate at Walmart in Moorefield. She loved her co-workers and enjoyed seeing and talking to her friends and fellow members of the community while at work. She loved her community and opened her home as a shelter during the flood of 1985. A Celebration of Tees Life will be held at 5:00 PM, Sunday, July 15, 2018 at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington St., Moorefield, WV. The family will receive friends starting at 3:00 PM until time of services at 5:00 PM. A private inurnment at Olivet Cemetery will be held once the construction of the new columbarium is complete. Tee loved animals, especially Boxers and it was important to her to help rescue them. She was an avid watcher of all shows on Animal Planet. Many times she helped abused or stray animals find a forever home.
