Leslie "Buck" Paul Crites

Leslie Paul Buck Crites, age 57 of Fisher, WV, passed away Friday evening, March 18, 2016 at the Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg, WV. Born September 29, 1958 in Petersburg, WV, he was the son of Emory N. Crites of Fisher, WV and the late Wanda Lee (Baldwin) Crites. He was a member of Moorefield High Schools Class of 1978. Buck loved his family, enjoying picking on his nieces and nephews, always laughing. Buck was a farmer his whole life, running the family farm at Fisher in his later years and during high school he was the President and member of the MHS Future Farmers of America and he had received his Honorary State FFA Degree. His love of making hay, buying and selling cattle with his father and his love for farming and the FFA extended into his adult years. Farming may have been his love, but auctioneering was his passion. Not only did he volunteer his time and his own auctioneering skills to the Tri-County Fair and the FFAs Annual Ham Bacon & Egg Sale, he was an auctioneer for the Moorefield Stockyards on Wednesdays for their junk/treasure sales. He formed many friendships there and will always be remembered for his infectious laugh. Some considered him an auction junkie as he was a member of the WV Auctioneer Association, and sponsored an annual training seminar approved by the WV Dept. of Agriculture for continuing education credit. In addition to his father, he is survived by a brother, Douglas E. & Cindy Crites of Fisher, WV; five sisters, Karen Colasessano of Moorefield, WV, Aneita & Rick Shirk of Old Fields, WV, Jenny & Roger Riggleman of Moorefield, WV, Marsha & Richard Fulcher of New Holland, PA and Amy Jo & Allan Kile of Fisher, WV; a special brother, Jeff Wilkins of Romney, WV; nieces and nephews, Josh Shirk, Adam Colasessano, Ashley Shirk Fitzwater, Matt Riggleman, Sarah Fulcher, Brooke Fulcher Fisher, Clint Riggleman, Allie Crites Rohrbaugh, Cassie Rinker, Katlin Shirk, Meagan Crites, Paige Crites & Lindsey Rinker and several great-nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted 1:00 Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at the Oak Grove United Methodist Church, Kessel Road, Fisher, WV with Pastors Rebecca VanStavern & Brad Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at the Fultz Cemetery, Fisher, WV. The family will receive friends from 1 7 PM Monday, March 21, 2016 at the Oak Grove United Methodist Church.
