Adrian Leon Hambleton, Jr.

Adrian Leon Hambleton, Jr., age 74 of Mathias, WV, passed away Wednesday evening, April 12, 2023 at the University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville, VA. Born on February 15, 1949 in Moorefield, WV, he was a son of Nancy Belle Southerly Hambleton of Petersburg, WV and the late Adrian Leon Hambleton, Sr.  In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Nancy Lou Whetzel and Barbara Weese.

Adrian was an outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing and working in his flower beds. He had a love of animals, especially his dogs. He was a graduate of Moorefield High School Class of 1967, where he was a champion wrestler and a Golden Horseshoe winner. He especially enjoyed his classmates and their class reunions.

Surviving in addition to his mother is his companion of 13 years, Susan Miller; three daughters, Amy Inskeep of Moorefield, WV, Tanya Crites of Moorefield, WV and Kelly Hambleton of Harrisonburg, VA; a brother, David Hambleton of Petersburg, WV; two sisters, Diana Hambleton and Donna Hambleton of Moorefield, WV; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 4 – 6 PM Sunday, April 23, 2023 at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington Street.
