Alice Mae Carr

Alice Mae Carr, age 94 of Rig, WV, passed away at the Grant County Nursing Home on Thursday evening, March 19, 2015. Born January 9, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Ora Griffin Riggleman and Fanny Cleaver Riggleman. She was the last living member of her immediate family. She was preceded in death by her husband of seventy-two years Donald Elmer Carr in December 2009. Also preceding her in death was a daughter and two grandsons. Surviving are eight children; Larry & Nancy Carr of Durbin, WV, Granvil & Evelyn Carr of Sunnyvale, CA, Dennis & Else Carr of Sacramento, CA, Sherry Stafiej of Laurel, MD, Victor & Annette Carr of Rig, WV, Phillip Carr of Maysville, WV, Carolyn & Bill Goldizen of Petersburg, WV, and Elizabeth & Herman Self of West Bend, NC; twenty-one grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be conducted 2:00 PM Sunday, March 22, 2015 at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington St., with the Rev. Lynn Rohrbaugh officiating. Interment will follow at the Newhouse Cemetery, Rig Road. The family will receive friends from 6 8 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
