Armond "Sonny" Dwight Riggleman

Armond “Sonny” Dwight Riggleman, age 85 of Fisher, WV, passed away Saturday afternoon, May 7, 2022 at the E.A. Hawse Nursing & Rehab Center in Baker, WV. Born on July 1, 1936 at Rig, Hardy County, WV, he was a son of the late Brook Branson Riggleman and Eveline Clara Newhouse Riggleman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Libby Steach, a grandson, J.R. Riggleman, five brothers and three sisters.

On May 11, 1957, he married the love of his life, Patricia Alma Crites Riggleman who survives, and they were married for 64 years. Also surviving are two daughters, Elaine (Steve) Davis of Moorefield, WV and Lisa (Mike) Swick of Petersburg, WV; a son, Eddie (Amber) Riggleman of Parkersburg, WV; fifteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; two extended family members, Deb Bishop & Jennifer Williams; two sisters and five sisters-in-law.

Sonny was a lifelong farmer and loved spending time with his family and farm friends. He loved showing sheep and playing softball in his earlier years with the Rig Softball Team. His farming career started at the age of 12 by walking from his home in Rig, through the woods to work for Mr. Ours. Later, he teamed up with Clyde to the run the farm and the poultry houses. He considered Clyde, MaryAnn and the girls (Deb & Jennifer) as his extended family and was grateful for their friendship.

Sonny will be remembered for never meeting a stranger and his love for God. He attended Oak Dale Christian Church in Rig.

At his request, Sonny will be cremated, and a Service of Remembrance will be held at a later date.
