Arville Price Wilt, 86, of Old Fields, WV passed away Monday, January 26, 2026. He was born on June 24, 1939, in Old Fields, a son of the late Arville Boyd Wilt and Pauline Catherine (Wolfe) Wilt. In addition to his parents, Price was preceded in death by sisters Anna Wilt and Violet Wilt Stewart; brother Roger Paul Wilt; sister-in-law Barbara Wilt; great-niece Autym Wilt; and step-grandson Zach Post.
Price graduated from Moorefield High School in 1957 and began working in the road construction industry, a vocation which moved him across the state. During Price's career, he was involved in the construction of parts of almost all the 4-lane highways in West Virginia, along with various dams, oil and gas drilling sites, and other construction projects.
But Price was a farmer and a lover of the outdoors at heart. After retirement and returning to Old Fields, he could often be found working in his garden at the farm, cutting brush, mowing grass, sitting on his porch swing watching kids fishing in his pond and deer walking across the fields, or tinkering in his garage. He particularly enjoyed showing his Farmall tractor during Hardy County Heritage Weekend and accompanying his brother Bobby at car shows with the family's Ford Model T (which was lovingly restored by their Dad).
Price is survived by sons Mark Wilt of Old Fields, WV, and Brian Wilt (Lori) of Ashland, KY; daughter Tami Jo Wilt of Charleston, WV; grandchildren Aaron Wilt and Dr. Ali Wilt (Braden Barnett); brother Robert Wilt; brother-in-law Carl Stewart; sister-in-law Grace Wilt; and several nieces and nephews.
There are also countless friends and relatives who have touched Price's life throughout the years, people he genuinely enjoyed gathering with and reminiscing.
Funeral Services will be conducted 1:00 PM Saturday, February 7, 2026, at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington Street with Pastor Michael Funkhouser officiant. Interment will follow in the Fout Cemetery, Old Fields, WV. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until time of services on Saturday.
Memorials in his honor may be made to the Hardy County 4-H Foundation, 144 Emergency Lane, Moorefield, WV 26836; or the Moorefield High School FFA Chapter, 401 N Main Street, Moorefield, WV 26836; or to Grant Memorial Hospice Foundation (a group who provided loving care to Price at the end of his life) 100 Hospital Drive #2, Petersburg, WV 26847.
