Betty Joan Anderson

Betty Joan Anderson, age 86 of Morningside Drive, Moorefield, WV, passed away Sunday morning, October 8, 2023, at her residence under the care of hospice. Born on October 2, 1937 at Green Spring, WV, she was a daughter of the late Emwood Leo Cosner and Mary Virginia Haines Cosner. Her husband whom she married in 1956, Kenneth Edward Anderson preceded her in death in April 2022. Two sisters, Mary Ann Chaney and Shirley Whetzel also preceded her in death.

Betty enjoyed gardening in her younger years and canning the fruits of her labor. In her spare time, she enjoyed watching TV, especially the WVU Mountaineers football games.

Surviving is a son, Steven Anderson of Moorefield, WV; a daughter, Melinda (Eric) Turner of Moorefield, WV; three grandchildren, Cody Turner, Kaylee Turner and Alayna Alexis Anderson; two sisters, Maxine Sirk of Keyser, WV and Kathy Hearding of Annapolis, MD along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be conducted 1:00 PM Thursday, October 12, 2023, at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington Street with Gregory B. Meikle officiant. Interment will follow in the Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11AM until time of service at 1:00 PM.
