Carol Louise Smith

Carol Louise Smith, age 81 of Valley View Road, Moorefield, WV, passed away Thursday morning, April 23, 2020, at the Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, VA. Born on March 18, 1939, at Kessel, WV, she was a daughter of the late James Oscar Kesner and Lena Ethel Bensenhaver Kesner. Her husband, Thomas Brooks Smith preceded her in death in July 2016. A daughter, seven sisters and two brothers also preceded her in death.

Carol enjoyed life to the fullest. Her daughters never knew of a harsh word she ever spoke to anyone. A crafty person, she enjoyed making jewelry and she had a collection of cows and angels. She loved tending her flower gardens and watching the hummingbirds. Giving back, she always fed the birds so she could enjoy watching them.

Surviving is four daughters; Vickie L. Perez of Stafford, VA, Barbara Moore of Centerville, VA, Lena Stocks of Louisa, VA and Tammy Carter of Nome, AK; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, private family graveside services will be held at the Newhouse Cemetery with Pastor Johnny Stump officiant. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date after restrictions are lifted.
