Clinton Gather Downey

Clinton Gather Downey, age 32 of Mathias, WV, passed away Sunday morning, October 18, 2020. Born on March 21, 1988 in Annapolis, MD, he is the son of Lisa Renee Reese of Mathias, WV and David Carl Downey of Winnabow, NC, both formerly of Edgewater, MD.

A self-described philanderer who loved to party, his softer side, he would spend helping anyone who asked. He loved kids and they in turn loved him as he was loved by everyone that knew him. His love of animals was second nature, as he rescued many over the years, especially a Pit Bull.

Surviving in addition to his parents is his brother, Cameron J. (wife Michelle) Funkhouser of Mathias, WV.

A casual celebration of life will be held beginning at 3:00 PM on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at Steve’s Broken Spoke, 14977 SR 55, Baker, WV. All are invited to share in Clinton’s memory, so bring a memory or a song. This event is inside/outside to comply with social distancing, feel free to bring your own chair and enjoy the fall weather.
