Daniel Richard Sherman

Daniel Richard Sherman, age 65 of Dogwood Street, Moorefield, WV, passed away Tuesday morning, February 5, 2013 at his residence with his family and pastor at his side. Born February 24, 1947 in Hardy Co., WV, he was the son of the late Brownley Homer Sherman and Ethel Virginia (Southerly) Sherman. He was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of the Denney-Moyers-Pratt Post #9606 V.F.W. A member of the Moorefield Church of the Brethren he was a pitcher for the Durgon Darts, fast pitch softball team. Daniel enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by two brothers. Surviving is his wife of 39 years, Debby (Riggleman) Sherman; a son, Bryan Sherman of Fisher, WV; two brothers, Ronnie Sherman of Moorefield, WV and Jimmy Sherman of Milam, WV and three sisters, Betty Berrett & Martha Lee Hartman of Petersburg, WV and Helen Coppe of Moorefield, WV. A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, February 24, 2013 at the Moorefield Church of the Brethren with Pastors Russell & Lucy Webster officiating. The family will receive friends for 1 hour prior to services. Family and friends are encouraged to share memories and photos during the service.
