Diana Jean Crites

Diana Jean Crites, age 69 of Moorefield, WV, passed away Saturday afternoon, October 8, 2022 at her residence with her family at her side. Born on March 30, 1953 in Elkins, WV, she was a daughter of Ocie Lillian Vandevender Thompson and the late Bruce Robert Thompson. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Carroll Bruce Thompson.

Diana graduated Harman High School in 1973 and later that same year moved to Rig, WV, where she began a family, then later in the 2000's moved to Moorefield. She was a fun-loving person and a caring person always willing to help others, which landed her a career with the Hardy County Committee on Ageing where she worked many years as a home maker aid. She also loved farming, especially raising baby calves. She also enjoyed cooking , baking and canning. Diana made many friends over the years and loved to be with her friends and family telling jokes and stories. She will be missed by everyone who's heart she touched.

Surviving is a son, Christopher (Shelby) Crites of Petersburg, WV; grandchildren, Chad Ritchie and daughter Lexi of Cumberland, MD, Brad (Brianna) Ritchie and daughters Kayla & Nova and son, Maverick of Cumberland, MD, Michelle (Derek) Auville and children, Troy, Tucker, Tyler & Tia of Petersburg, WV; the father of her son and best friend, Allen L. Crites of Rig, WV; siblings, Bill Thompson, David Thompson, Kenneth (Virginia) Thompson, Barbara (Eddie) Worden and Linda Thompson of Sully, WV, Donna (John) Crickard of Elkins, WV, Stella (Kenneth) Harvey of Buckhannon, WV, Jamie ( Richard ) Kittle of Coalton, WV and Steven (Patricia) Thompson of Lanville, WV; her two fur babies; numerous nieces and nephews and a special friend, Mary Hawk.

A Celebration of Life will be held beginning at 11:00AM on October 29, 2022 at the Red Creek Community Center in Red Creek, WV with a meal to follow, all are encouraged to bring a covered dish.
