Don Burl Southerly

Don “Donnie” Burl Southerly, age 71 of Old Fields, WV, passed away Thursday afternoon, June 1, 2023, at E. A. Hawse Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Baker, WV. Born on June 10, 1951, in Cumberland, MD, he was a son of the late Melvin Burl Southerly and Kathryn Belle Thomas Southerly. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth, his twin brother, Johnnie and brother, Carl.

Donnie was a truck driver for Pilgrims, a past member of the Moorefield Volunteer Fire Company-46, a past member of Fraley Ambulance and a greeter at Walmart for many years. He was a member of the Old Fields Baptist Church and worked at E.A. Hawse for numerous years.

Surviving is his wife, Donna Kay Fields Southerly; a brother, Melvin (Karen) Southerly of Lima, OH; nieces & nephew, Elizabeth Simmons, Jennifer Champ, Connie Sherman, Becky Brown, Kelly Trimble & Michael Southerly; and a special cousin, Linda Sites.

At his request he has been cremated and services will be private.
