Doris Ann Haskins, age 83 of Moorefield, WV, passed away Saturday evening, May 24, 2025, at her daughter’s residence. Born on February 20, 1942, in Goldsboro, NC, Doris was the cherished daughter of the late Charles Columbus Odom and Norma Virginia Elizabeth Faucett Odom. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Sonny Haskins, a daughter Betty Stickley, a son-in-law, Dewayne Liggett, two sisters, Norma and Mildred and her brother Bill. She was the last member of her immediate family.
Doris was a beacon of love and joy, known for her delicious home-cooked meals which brought her family together. Her flowers were her pride and joy, and her love for dancing filled her life with happiness. In her later years, she found joy in coloring, a reflection of her vibrant spirit. She was also a dedicated member and sponsor of Alcoholics Anonymous for twenty years, always ready to lend an ear and a helping hand to anyone in need. Doris will be lovingly remembered for her compassion, warm smile, and the light she brought into the lives of those around her.
Surviving is her faithful cat “Domino”; a daughter, Terri A. Liggett of Brandywine, WV; a son, John (Jane) Harman of Fairmont, WV; a son-in-law, Mark Stickley of Moorefield, WV; six grandchildren; Alexander Stickley (Amber Barr), Joshua Stickley (Michaela), Taylor Stickley, Emily Rohrbacher (Brandon), Sara Hoskins (Hunter), Kate Colebank (Jesse); sixteen great-grandchildren; Natalie, Jaxon, Niko, Quentin, Hudson, Nora, Charlotte, Rhydian, Luke, Ella, Gideon, Danny, Harper, Andrew, Evelyn, Isla; numerous nieces and nephews; Chris Crites and Jeanette Ours, who were like daughters.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, June 1, 2025, at Duffey Memorial Church, located at 100 N Elm Street. The family will welcome friends starting at 2:00 PM, creating a space for shared stories and cherished memories. Pastor Mark Flynn will officiate the service, ensuring that Doris’s spirit is honored in a way that reflects the love she so freely gave.
