Dorothy Hose

Dorothy Ellen Hose, age 82 of Moorefield, WV, passed away Sunday evening, July 27, 2025, at the E.A. Hawse Healthcare Center in Baker, WV. Born on October 17, 1942, near Moorefield, WV, she was a daughter of the late Roy Overton Hose, Sr. and Nancy Lee Shockey Hose.

Known for her fierce spirit, Dorothy dedicated her life to her family, especially to her beloved sons. A proud mother at heart, she cherished every moment spent with them, celebrating the simple joys of everyday life. Her laughter echoed through their home, a sound that will be sorely missed but fondly remembered.

Dorothy's friends and family knew her as a nurturing soul, always ready to lend a hand or share a smile. Whether hosting family gatherings or engaging in community events, she cultivated connections that enriched her life and the lives of those around her.

Surviving are three sons, Ray (Sherry) Davy of Baker, WV, Donald (Rachel) Davy and Richard (Christy) Davy of Moorefield, WV; a brother, Alston Hose of Moorefield, WV; a sister, Emma Jean Mowery of Moorefield, WV; five grandchildren, Timoth Wimer, Jonathan Davy, Michael Davy, Michelle Davy and Stephanie Anderson and eight great-grandchildren.

Dorothy’s wish to be cremated has been granted by her family. No services are planned at this time.
