Douglas Jay Southerly

Douglas Jay Southerly, age 53 of South Main Street, Moorefield, WV passed away Wednesday afternoon, August 6, 2003 at the Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg, WV. Born June 27, 1950 in Petersburg, WV he was a son of the late Lester ?Lec? and Evelyn ?Grace? (Branson) Southerly. He was a veteran of the US Army of the Vietnam era and a member of the John M. Golliday Post# 64 American Legion and a member of the Denney-Moyers-Pratt Post #9606 Veterans of Foreign Wars. Surviving is one brother, Donald Ray Southerly of Belington, WV; a sister, Phyllis Newhouse of Moorefield, WV and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services were conducted Saturday, August 9, 2003 at the Fraley Funeral Home in Moorefield with Pastor Jimmy Stump officiating. A Veteran?s Memorial Service was held at 6:30 PM at the funeral home. Mr. Southerly was cremated after the funeral service and interment of his cremains will be at a later date.
