Edwin Wayne Anderson, age 77 of Moorefield, WV, passed away Tuesday morning at his residence. Born on August 13, 1947, in Warrenton, VA, he was the son of the late Elmer Henry Anderson and Margaret Louise Cook Anderson. His wife, Rachel A. Anderson preceded him in death in May 2015.
Wayne was the embodiment of the motto “Faith-Family-Country.” He found great joy in reading his Bible daily and was always eager to lend a hand at church or volunteer at the food bank. His family was everything to him, and he embraced every friendship with open arms, treating everyone he met like family, “he never met a stranger.” His love for his country was evident in the way he carried himself, despite not having served in the armed forces.
Wayne was a professional photographer whose love for his craft was unmatched. His keen eye for detail and ability to capture the beauty of everyday moments brought joy to countless individuals. Whether he was photographing a stunning landscape or a cherished family gathering, Ed had a unique talent for making memories come alive through his lens. When life felt heavy, Edwin sought comfort on the golf course, sharing laughs and memories during rounds with friends.
Surviving are two sons, “Ed” (Sandy) Anderson of Killeen, TX and Aaron (Sara) Anderson of Lignum, VA; two daughters, Heather (Lester) Harper of Petersburg, WV and Valerie Moore of Front Royal, VA; two step sons, Jesse Bowers and David Bowers; a sister, Gail (Charlie) Brown of Warrenton, VA; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and step-sons, Jesse Bowers and David Bowers.
To honor Edwin's remarkable life, a Celebration of Life will be held in Front Royal at a later date. This will be a time for all who knew and loved him to come together, share stories, and reminisce about the impact he made on our lives.
We invite everyone to visit www.fraleyfuneralhome.com to leave condolences, share memories, and upload photos to commemorate Edwin’s extraordinary spirit. Let us celebrate the legacy of a man who enriched so many lives with love, laughter, and kindness.
