Elmer Allen Crites

Elmer Allen Crites, age 72 of River Road, Fisher, WV, passed away Friday morning, February 8, 2019 at the Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, VA. Born on June 24, 1946 in Petersburg, WV he was a son of the late Delmer Ervin Crites and Grace Mae Goldizen Crites. A son, Jeffrey Ryan Crites preceded him in death in November 2004.

Allen was a lifetime farmer in the South Branch Valley. He graduated Moorefield High School, Class of 1964 and attended Potomac State College in Keyser, WV. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and an active member of the Emmanuel Episcopal Church. He was a Past President and active volunteer for the Moorefield Little League. Allen’s love in life was farming and family.

Surviving is his wife of 51 years, Greta Crites; a son, Ashley & wife Amy Crites of Fisher, WV; a grandson, Oliver; a granddaughter, Emmy; two brothers, Rodger Crites and Michael Crites of Moorefield, WV and three nieces.

A Celebration of Life will be held beginning at 5:00 PM Monday, February 11, 2019 at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington Street with Pastor Harold George officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM until time of services at 5:00 PM.

Memorials in Allen’s honor may be directed to the charity of donor’s choice.
