Emma Jean Simmons

Emma Jean Simmons, age 81 of Jenkins Run Road, Moorefield, WV, passed away Saturday morning, March 14, 2015 at the E. A. Hawse Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Baker, WV. Born September 2, 1933, in Hardy Co., WV, she was the daughter of the late John William Hepner and Pearl Eva (Craig) Hepner. Her husband of 58 years, Rolland S. Dump Simmons, preceded her in death in May 2011. A brother and three sisters also preceded her in death. A 1951 graduate of Moorefield High School, she was a longtime Kindergarten aide for Hardy County Schools. A member of the Bakers Chapel United Methodist Church, she enjoyed reading, writing and gardening. Surviving is a daughter, Susie Dolly of Moorefield, WV; two sons, Brad Simmons and Brian Simmons of Moorefield, WV; a granddaughter; three grandsons and two great-grandsons. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington Street with the Rev. Ron Bowyer officiating. Interment is private.
