Freeman Landon See

Freeman Landon See, age 88 of Kessel Road, Fisher, WV, passed away Friday afternoon, November 29, 2019 at Dutch Haven Assisted Living at Maurertown, VA.  Born on May 28, 1931 in Moorefield, WV, he was the son of the late Asa Wilbert See and Bertha May Cook See.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Juanita Raines See on June 12, 2018. He was also preceded in death by 6 brothers: Brown, Adrian, Charles, Stanley, Marcellus and Eugene and one sister Edna Rose. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

He was an Army veteran serving during the Korean War; a member of the Denney-Moyers-Pratt Post# 9606 VFW and the John M. Golliday Post# 64 American Legion. He was a former member of the Moorefield Volunteer Fire Company and had worked as a carpenter & plumber. He was most proud of building his own home, 48 years ago.

Surviving is a daughter Kathleen Simerly and husband David of Moorefield, WV; a sister-in-law, Mary See of E.A. Hawse Nursing Home, Baker, WV and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral Services will be conducted 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington Street with Pastor Harold George officiant. Interment will follow with Military Graveside Rites Accorded by the U.S. Army & the Moorefield Veteran’s Honor Guard at the Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-7 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
