George "Bud" Compton

George Bud Compton, Jr. age 75 formerly of Moorefield, WV whom last resided in Front Royal, VA, passed away Tuesday morning, February 26, 2013 at the Rose Hill Nursing Home in Berryville, VA. He was born October 11, 1937 in Riverton, WV a son of the late George Tyree Compton and Sally Kate Warner. He was a truck driver for Giant Foods and was a member of the Teamsters Local # 639 of Washington, DC. Seven sisters and two brothers preceded in death. Surviving are three daughters, Karen Fortunato of Front Royal, VA, Sharon Watson of Edgewater, MD and Amanda Compton of Middleton, VA; the mother of his three daughters Bonnie (Siebert) Compton; three grandsons and three great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 2 5 PM Saturday, March 2, 2013 at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington St. Graveside Services will be conducted 1:00 PM Sunday, March 3, 2013 at the North Fork Memorial Cemetery, Riverton, WV with the Rev. Stanley Kile officiating. Interment will follow.
