George Allen
Gay
October 20, 1953 – April 17, 2026
George Allen Gay, age 72 of Old Fields, WV, a spirited soul and devoted family man, will forever be remembered for his love of life and the joy he brought to those around him, passed away Friday morning, April 17, 2026, at his residence. Born on October 20, 1953, in Oakland, MD, he was the son of the late George Woodford Gay and Ruby Cleta Pennington Gay.
George was a true outdoorsman at heart, finding happiness in camping trips, fishing adventures, and hunting for hidden treasures at yard sales. His hands knew the work of an equipment operator in the pool industry, but it was through his mechanic skills that he left a mark, tinkering away on various projects that brought him great satisfaction.
Most importantly, George cherished his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Sandra Kay Harvey Gay, and his three cherished daughters, Melissa (husband Donnie) Davis, Tonya (husband Sam) Munford and Lisa Gay; a sister, Linda Gaither; grandchildren, Skylar Dawson (girlfriend Madison Fazenbaker), Kaitlyn Dawson (boyfriend Blaine Sisler), Hailey Davis, Logan Davis, Mary Mumford (fiancé Eric Auvil), Aleaha Mumford and George Mumford and great-grandchildren, Quinn Dawson, Everly Sisler, Baby Boy Sisler, Graysie Fazenbaker, Kaia Rose Oats, Ethan Auvil, Thomas Auvil, and The Mann Family.
The family will host a lively celebration of life with details forthcoming, where friends and family can gather to share stories, laughter, and, of course, a few tears. For those who wish to send their condolences, share memories, or upload photos in honor of George, we encourage you to visit his Tribute Wall at www.fraleyfuneralhome.com. Let's come together to celebrate the joyful spirit of George Allen Gay, who brightened the lives of so many.
