Obituary

Gladys Irene Kozlik, age 80 of Maysville, WV, passed away Friday evening, September 4, 2026, at the Grant County Rehabilitation and Care Center in Petersburg, WV. Born on June 26, 1946, in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late George Emory Deeters and Gladys Irene Kehoe Deeters.

For over 30 years, Gladys dedicated her professional life to dental health as a skilled dental assistant. Her passion for her field and natural leadership led her to serve as the President of the Northern Virginia Dental Assistants Association. After retiring from dentistry, Gladys channeled her remarkable talent for creating order out of chaos into a second career as a Professional Organizer. She thoroughly enjoyed helping others transform their lives and spaces, bringing a sense of peace and clarity to everyone she worked with.

Beyond her professional achievements, Gladys was a woman of diverse talents and warm passions. Her garden was a reflection of her patience and nurturing spirit, blooming beautifully under her care. An exceptional cook, she delighted in preparing meals that brought loved ones together. Her compassionate heart extended to all living things, and she held a deep affection for animals throughout her life.

Above all, Gladys’s greatest joy was her family. She was a deeply loving grandmother who cherished every moment spent with her two grandsons, leaving them with beautiful memories and lessons that will last a lifetime. Her warmth, wisdom, and vibrant spirit will be profoundly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.

Gladys is survived by her children, Jill Ann Kozlik of Maysville, WV and Mark Robert Kozlik of Bristol, VA; and two grandsons, Lincoln "Alex” Davis, Jr. and Charles R. Davis.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to honor her.
