Heiskell Ray Smith

Heiskell Ray Smith, age 81 of Frosty Hollow Road, Fisher, WV, passed away Tuesday evening, May 3, 2022, at Autumn Lakes Health Care at Nellas’ in Elkins, WV. Born on January 2, 1941, at Fisher, WV, he was a son of the late Cecil Wendolyn Smith and Claire Rosetta Pratt Smith. A son, a daughter, two brothers, three sisters and a half-sister also preceded him in death.

Heiskell attended the Frosty Hollow School, owned, and operated his own masonry business for 35 years, worked for Pilgrim’s Pride for numerous years and retired to operate his own poultry farm. He was a member of the of the McNeill’s Rangers SVC Camp 582.

Surviving is his wife of 59 years, Betty Jo Noble Smith; a son, Jerry (Melissa) Smith of Fisher, WV; nine grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren; two brothers, Evers O. Smith of Peterburg, WV and James Smith of Fairmont, WV; three sisters, Orpha Cowgill of Petersburg, WV; Carmelita Kisner of Anchorage, Alaska and his twin, Juanita Trichel of Bossier City, LA; and two half-sisters, Eva (John) Paugh of Fisher, WV and Hiawatha Smith of Moorefield, WV.

Funeral Services will be conducted 1:00 PM Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington Street with Pastor Doyle Patch officiant. Interment will follow at the Kessel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 PM Monday at the funeral home. Due to the current COVID-19 recommendations, wearing of masks and social distancing by individuals unvaccinated is recommended.
