Hellen Louise Delawder

January 19, 1942 — June 11, 2023

Hellen Louise Delawder, age 81 of Moorefield, WV, passed away Sunday evening, June 11, 2023, at her residence, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. Born on January 19, 1942, she was a daughter of the late David Jenkins and Bessie Florence Sites Jenkins. Her husband, William H. “Bud” Delawder, Jr. preceded her in death in March 2022. A daughter, Lori Delawder Rager, brothers, Jimmy, Kenny & Charlie Jenkins and her sisters, Eula Vetter, Hazel Thorne, Dorothy Simmons and Edith Jenkins also preceded her in death.

Hellen loved her flowers and enjoyed showing them off to everyone. She would spend hours working in her flower beds and mowing grass.

Surviving is a son, Billy Delawder of Moorefield, WV; a daughter, Julie Stump of Moorefield, WV; granddaughters, Leah Lesley and Crystal Rager; a great-grandson whom she loved with all of her heart, Crosby; sisters, Nancy Myers of Moorefield, WV and Betty Whetzel of Petersburg, WV and numerous nieces and nephews.

Hellen’s wish was to be cremated and a Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at the Old Fields Baptist Church with Pastor Dan Howard officiant. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until the time of service.
