James Monroe Rush

James Monroe Rush, age 68 of Valley Terrace, Morefield, WV, passed away Wednesday morning, August 19, 2020 at his residence. Born on March 21, 1952 in New Market, VA, he was a son of the late Ray Long & Margaret Rush Long but raised by Sonny & Peggy Whetzel of Ft. Run. Jim was a longtime plumber, HVAC technician in the Moorefield area. In his younger days, he enjoyed fishing, bowling and enjoyed his cats and dogs. He was considered by some as a workaholic, working tirelessly most days.

Surviving is a son, J. L. (Krista) Rush of Petersburg, WV; two daughters, Amy L. Rush of Petersburg, WV and Madison G. Helmick of Moorefield, WV; a grandson, James Keaton Rush; a brother, Clarence Rush of Edinburg, VA and three sisters, Debra (Kenny) Arbaugh of Moorefield, WV, Joan Rush of Edinburg, VA, Jane Vest of Broadway, VA and special friend Pam Helmick of Moorefield, WV.

Funeral Services will be conducted 2:00 PM Sunday, August 23, 2020 at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington Street with Pastor Matt Perrine as officiant. Interment will follow at the Baldwin Cemetery near Moorefield. The family will receive friends from 4 – 7 PM Saturday at the funeral home.

Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, wearing of masks and social distancing will be required at the funeral home at all times.
