James Monroe Shobe

James Monroe Shobe, age 69 of Moorefield, WV, passed away Monday morning, October 17, 2022, at the J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. Born on February 5, 1953, in Elkins, WV, he was a son of the late Charles Alexander Shobe and Nellie Ruth Weaver Shobe.

 James had retired from Pilgrim’s Pride in 2019 and worked with Ronnie Kimble for over 25 years painting in the area. He considered Ronnie a true friend. James was an outdoors person, enjoying time to hunt, fish, working in the garden with his little buddy, and watching his wrestling.

Surviving is his fiancé Luretta Dove; a son, Brian M. (Wendy) Shobe of Franklin, WV; a daughter, Jamie (Kenny) Trail of Elkins, WV; grandchildren, Sean (Alexus) Shobe, Cody Shobe, Malachi Stewart and Dezierae Stewart; and one great grandson Levi Shobe; two brothers, Dale Shobe of Elkins, WV and Allen Shobe of Virginia; and five sisters, Barbara S. McClung, Margaret Taylor & Janie Shobe, Carolyn Green all of Elkins, WV and Becky Sturdivant of Harrisonburg, VA; and two future step-daughters Carrie Dove and sons, Crystal Adams and family; his little buddy, Landyn  Dove and numerous nieces and nephews.

 At James’s request he has been cremated and a family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
