Jim Barr

James Clifford ?Jim? Barr, age 77 of Rig, WV passed away Monday morning, June 30, 2003 at the Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg, WV. Born January 3, 1926 in Hardy County, WV he was a son of the late Oscar & Mamie (Newhouse) Barr. Two brothers and three sisters preceded him in death. He was a member of the Oakdale Christian Church at Rig, WV where he served as a trustee, a founding member of the Valley Gospelaires, and a Veteran of the US Navy of WWII. Surviving is his wife, Elizabeth ?Sis? (Bensenhaver) Barr; a son, Rodney Barr of Fisher, WV; two daughters, Julie Shobe and Jeanne Workman of Fisher, WV; a brother, Robert Burns Barr of Rig, WV; two sisters, Gladys Hardy of Fisher, WV and Vera Sherman of Arthur, WV and five grandchildren. Funeral Services were conducted Thursday, July 3, 2003 at the Fraley Funeral Home in Moorefield with the Rev. Lynn Rohrbaugh officiating. Interment followed at the Newhouse Cemetery at Rig, WV.
