Joan Rae Mischler, age 86, of Fisher, WV, passed away Wednesday evening, October 28, 2026, at the Grant Memorial Hospital, in Petersburg, WV. Born on January 17, 1940, in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of the late Charles Gregory Davis and Dorothy Mae Gingell Davis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert G. Mischler; a daughter, Rose Paoli; and two sisters, Lillian Lewis and Doris Thorne.

In her earlier years, she embraced a variety of activities that brought her joy, including bowling, hiking, and biking with her late husband, Robert. Her adventurous spirit and passion for the outdoors were an inspiration to her family and friends.

In her later years, Joan dedicated much of her time and energy to serving her community, notably as the treasurer of the Moorefield Public Library, where her commitment and organizational skills were invaluable.

Joan is survived by a son, Allen Mills; a daughter, Jackie Ruth; and a granddaughter, Satori Paoli-Armentrout (Jacob); grandsons Andrew Mills and Aric Mills and great grandchildren Andy Mills and Adeline Mills.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to honor her.
