John
Nocar
Mar 20, 1959 — Jun 22, 2026
Old Fields Baptist Church
Starts at 5:00 pm (Eastern time)
John William Nocar, age 67 of Moorefield, WV, passed away Monday morning, June 22, 2026, at his residence. Born on March 20, 1959, in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Roman Nocar and Charlotte Beatrice Keiser Moore. A son and a brother also preceded him in death.
John's zest for life was infectious, and he was known for bringing everyone together with his delicious cooking and unforgettable gatherings. His yard parties were legendary, where laughter and joy filled the air, and he was always the life of the party. A proud Baltimore native, he lived for the excitement of Ravens games, passionately cheering for his team. He also had a knack for mechanics, taking cars apart and restoring them to pristine condition, and enjoyed treasure hunting at yard sales for that perfect find. When not working or gearing up for the next big game, John could often be found camping and soaking in the beauty of nature.
Surviving is his wife of 18 years, Candace Svette Porter Nocar; sons, Nick Nocar of Beckley, WV, Justin Brown of Moorefield, WV and Travis Brown of TN; daughters, Amber Michael and Amanda McReynolds of Moorefield, WV; sister, Robin Pike of Wake Forest, NC and fifteen grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held 5:00 PM, Saturday, July 18, 2026 at the Old Fields Baptist Church with Pastor Dan Howard officiant.
