Joy Angela Coby

Joy Angela (Snyder) Coby, age 45 of Moorefield, WV, passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2015. She was born on May 24, 1970 in Petersburg, WV a daughter of Ruby Ellen (Snyder) Mason of Moorefield, WV and the late Nathan Harper Dove. Joy was married to Donald W. Coby of Moorefield, WV for 25 years and together they had four beautiful children: a daughter, Meaghan Coby of Fisher, WV and three sons, Christian Coby of Morgantown, WV, Spencer Coby and Paxton Coby of Moorefield, WV. Additionally she is survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and a myriad of close friends she considered family. Joys whole world revolved around her children. She mothered four of her own, as well as countless others that were always welcome and present at her house or wherever she was. She was rarely seen without a child on her hip and a bright smile on her face. Joy had a gift for making any child feel loved, and she brought this talent, not only into her parenting, but into her teaching as well. As an employee of Hardy County Schools since August 2000, Joy taught many subjects from special education to social studies. Most recently, she found her true passion as a reading teacher at Moorefield Middle School. As any close friend or relative can attest, Joy found the greatest happiness in books and sharing the gift of reading. When she was not busy with her many school and parental duties, Joy always found time to lend a helping hand anywhere it was needed. She spent countless hours coaching high school track and youth league cheerleading, chaperoning school functions, and managing the Moorefield Town Pool for ten years. A Celebration of Life will be held beginning at 6:00 PM Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at the Moorefield Middle School, 303 Caledonia Heights Road, Moorefield, WV with Pastors Lynn Rohrbaugh & Chris Whetzel as celebrants. The family will receive friends from 2 4 PM & 6 8 PM Monday at the Fraley Funeral Home, 107 Washington Street where friends may call after 9:00 AM Monday. Interment is Private.
