Linda Kay Wratchford, age 66 of Holly Avenue, Moorefield, WV, passed away Saturday evening, February 18, 2023 at the Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg, WV. Born on July 16, 1956, in Petersburg, WV, she was a daughter of the late Denver James Shirk and Evelyn Virginia Crawford Shirk.
Linda is survived by her husband of 23 years, Allen Ray Wratchford; a son, Christopher J. Wratchford (Karen) of Brick, NJ; stepdaughters, Amanda Jo Wachter (Robert) of Moorefield, WV and Jessica Denise Poli of Eden, NC; three brothers, Randy Crawford of Kessel, WV, Ronald W. Sperling of Moorfield, WV and Carl Delmas Shirk of Moorefield, WV; thirteen grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Linda worked several jobs throughout her life in which she was always helping others. Wampler Foods, first in the medical department as an EMT before being promoted to Assistant HR manager. She worked at E.A. Hawse Health Center as the Outreach Coordinator which assisted in many families obtaining much needed medical care for children. She was awarded Outstanding Outreach Coordinator by the state of WV for her hard work and dedication. She also served as Human Resource Assistant and Payroll Operator at Potomac Highlands Mental Health Guild.
She enjoyed being outside tending to her garden and flower beds during the summer, watching her hummingbirds fly around and spending time with her neighbors. Most of all she loved spending time with her family. She was so incredibly proud of her grandchildren and loved attending their sporting and school events.
Funeral Services will be conducted 11:00 AM Thursday, February 23, 2023 at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington Street with Pastor Steve Davis officiant. Interment will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery, Purgitsville, WV. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
