Louis Machir Halterman

Louis Machir Halterman, age 79 of Moorefield, WV, passed away Sunday, April 25, 2004 at the Veterans Hospital in Martinsburg, WV. Born June 16, 1924 in Hardy Co., WV, he was a son of the late Brown S. & Estie F. (Getz) Halterman. He was a veteran of the US Army/Air Corps of WWII, a member of the Denney-Moyers-Pratt Post# 9606 V.F.W., a member of the John M. Golliday Post #64 American Legion and a past member of the Moorefield Presbyterian Church. A sister, Margaret Swartz, preceded him in death. Surviving is a son, Michael L. Halterman of Berkeley Springs, WV; a daughter, Brenda H. Riggleman of Harrisonburg, VA; two brothers, John P. Halterman of Keyser, WV and Junior B. Halterman of Moorefield, WV; four sisters, Pauline Fitez of Elkins, WV, Frances Reimenschneider of Elkins, WV, Betty Hott of Lehew, WV and Beverely Baughman of Clearwater, FL; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Graveside Services were held Thursday, April 29, 2004 at the Olivet Cemetery in Moorefield with Pastor Braxton Garriss officiating. The US Army and the Moorefield Veterans Honor Guard accorded military graveside rites.
