Mia

Our beloved Isabella Mia of Barefoot Scout, whom we all called "Mia", crossed the rainbow bridge on Sunday evening, December 7, 2025. Mia was born on July 27, 2018, in Gallipolis, OH. Mia was not only a member of our family, but she quickly became a member of our community. Mia attended schools in Winchester, VA, and Manassas, VA, to receive her certification as a therapy dog. On August 16, 2020, Mia was certified, despite several months of delay due to COVID-19, as a K-9 Caring Angels Certified Therapy Dog.

She enjoyed playing in the snow, swimming in the river, receiving treats, especially “yak cheese”, playing with her sister, Marci and visiting with everyone. She visited students in Grant County schools and was a constant at the funeral home, greeting families. When requested, she would travel with Angie for other events, funeral homes or schools.

As all pet owners know, there is never enough time. We will miss her so much but know that the love she shared will live on. Thanks so much to Drs. Tom and Lesley and the staff at South Branch Animal Hospital for all you have done for her.
