Norman Alfred Delawder

Norman Alfred Delawder, age 75 of Moorefield, WV, passed away Saturday evening, July 6, 2024 at the Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, VA. Born on September 12, 1948 in Cumberland, MD, he was a son of the late Columbus Cleveland Delawder and Georgia Arbutus Stallings Delawder. A grandson, Anthony, a sister, Helen Middleton and a brother, Marvin also preceded him in death.

 Norman proudly served in the U.S. Air Force and after his retirement from Hester's following 34 years of dedicated service, he found joy in woodworking and creative construction projects. He was a committed member of Calvary Baptist Church and shared his passion for community service as an All Star 4-H leader, guiding and inspiring the youth of tomorrow.

 Norman's kind and generous spirit touched the lives of many, always extending a helping hand to those in need. His love for his family was evident in the cherished moments spent with his grandchildren and great-grandsons, whom he valued above all else. His commitment to faith, family, and service stood as a testament to his character and legacy.

 Surviving is his loving wife of over 52 years, Deloras Kay Bergdoll Delawder; a son, Daniel A. Delawder of Moorefield, WV; a daughter, Vickie Mae Hawks of Moorefield, WV; brothers, Roy Delawder  of Clear Spring, MD & Ray Delawder of Cumberland, MD; grandchildren, Ashley, Bethany, Auston, Jacob, Andrew, Brianna & Dixie; great-grandsons, Briar & Chase along with numerous nieces and nephews.

 A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
