Norman Allen Sions, age 64 of Shockey Road, Old Fields, WV, passed away Saturday afternoon, May 29, 2021, at his residence. Born on July 28, 1956, on an Indian Reservation in Washington state, he was the son of the late Harold Arthur Sions and Mary Kathryn Kuykendall Sions. A sister, Sandra Sue Conley preceded him in death.
After leaving American Wookmark when the plant closed, he became a farm hand for the VanMeter family in Old Fields. He was an outdoorsman, spending time fishing in ponds and the river and hunting in the woods in the area, anywhere, anytime, he could. A quiet, stay at home individual, his leisure time was spent sitting around, listening to country music on the radio.
Surviving are two sisters, Gloria Jean (Wayne) Shockey of Old Fields, WV and Nancy Shockey of Kingwood, WV; four brothers, Roger (Lynn) Sions of Elkton, VA, Kenneth (Deborah) Sions of Grottoes, VA, Lawrence (Karen) Sions of McGaheysville, VA and Robert Sions of Rawley Springs, VA; and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family.
Funeral Services will be conducted 2:00 PM Thursday, June 3, 2021, at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington Street, with Pastor Dan Howard officiant. Interment will follow in the Bethel Cemetery, Old Fields Road, Old Fields, WV. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
Wearing of masks and social distancing by individuals unvaccinated is recommended and temperature checks will be offered.
