Ralph "Butch" Hoxie Greenwalt, Sr.

Ralph Hoxie “Butch” Greenwalt, Sr., age 66 of Church Road, Old Fields, WV, passed away Thursday morning, November 7, 2019 at the Piney Valley Nursing Home in Keyser, WV. Born on December 9, 1952 in Grant County, WV, he was a son of Esther Mae Smith Greenwalt of Moorefield, WV and the late Jack Hoxie Greenwalt. His wife, Debra Jean Walker Greenwalt preceded him in death in January 2006.

Butch enjoyed the outdoors, even mowing the lawn, but enjoyed hunting and fishing and the time he spent with his grandchildren. He was a longtime employee of Thrasher Springs Lumber Company and spent a large portion of his life timbering in the woods.

Surviving is a daughter; Roxie G. (Richard) Stanley of Moorefield, WV; two sons, Ralph H. “JR” (Stephanie) Greenwalt, Jr. and William “Billy” (Amy) Greenwalt of Old Fields, WV; four sisters, Sandra “Sandy” DeVault, Gail “Susie” Tompkins, Debra “Deb” Riggleman all of Moorefield, WV and Elsie Haggerty of Old Fields, WV; five brothers, Julian “Frog” Greenwalt, Timothy “Timmy” Greenwalt, Gary “Bink” Greenwalt, Rusty Greenwalt and Scott Greenwalt all of Moorefield, WV; four grandchildren, Emily, Savannah, Kail & Kason and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be conducted 11:00 AM Monday November 11, 2019 at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington Street with Pastor Dan Howard as officiant. Interment will follow at Rogers Cemetery, Old Fields, WV. The family will receive friends from 5 – 8 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
