Ray William Ketterman

William ?Ray? Ketterman, age 85 of Moorefield, WV, passed away Sunday evening, October 16, 2011 at his residence. Born October 20, 1925 in Hardy Co., WV, he was the son of the late Lorenzo C. & Dora F. (Fitzwater) Ketterman. Ray had retired from Hester Industries after 39 years of service. His first wife, Mattie (Wilson) Ketterman preceded him in death in October 1957 and his second wife, Dolly (Haggerty) Ketterman preceded him in death in June 1993. Two grandsons, a son-in-law, two brothers and a sister also preceded him in death. He was a lifelong resident of Hardy County. Surviving are six sons, Doug Ketterman of Petersburg, WV, Paul S. Ketterman of Burlington, WV, Jimmy Ketterman of Lost River, WV, Kenneth Nelson of Seneca Rocks, WV, Clyde Ketterman of Burlington, WV and Donald Ketterman of Moorefield, WV; four daughters, Sylvia Gorman of Berryville, VA, Judy Hyre of Fisher, WV, Deb Taylor of Purgitsville, WV and Viola ?Squirt? Shipp of Woodstock, VA; a brother, John Ketterman of Baker, WV; four sisters, Betty Kelley of Moorefield, WV, Flora ?Toots? Hose of Moorefield, WV, Polly McDonald of Strasburg, VA and Lil Bowers of Toms Brook, VA; 28 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter. Funeral Services will be conducted 11:00 AM Thursday, October 20, 2011 at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington St., with Pastors Don Knotts, Russell & Lucy Webster officiating. Interment will follow at the Walnut Grove Gardens near Moorefield. The family will receive friends from 4 ? 8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
