Richard Walter Bosley

Richard Walter Bosley, age 69 of Old Fields, WV passed away Sunday morning, December 30, 2018 at the University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville, VA. Born on September 17, 1949 in Mineral Co., WV he was a son of the late Bernard Walter Bosley and Mildred Agnes McCullough Bosley. A granddaughter, Hannah M. Weatherholt also preceded him in death in October 2018.

Richard was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War serving from 1969 through 1971 stationed in Germany. He was a member of the Denney-Moyers-Pratt Post #9606 V.F.W. and the John M Golliday Post #64 American Legion. He was an Active member of the Old Fields Baptist Church since 2007 and following his obedience to Jesus was baptized in 2009. He was the Sexton of the Bethel Cemetery in Old Fields for numerous years and was retired as an Operating Engineer from Local 37. Richard enjoyed farming until unable due to his health and spending time with his family especially hunting with the grandchildren.

Surviving is his wife of 46 years, Anita Kay Crites Bosley; a daughter, Denice (husband Dan) Weatherholt of Fisher, WV; a son, R.W. “Rick” Bosley of Keyser, WV; two grandchildren, Matthew Weatherholt and Sarah Weatherholt and a sister, Charlen (husband Butch) Crites of Old Fields, WV

A Service of Salvation will be held beginning at 11:00 AM Thursday, January 3, 2019 at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington Street with Pastor Dan Howard as celebrant. Interment will follow with Military Graveside Rites accorded by the U.S. Army and the Moorefield Veterans Honor Guard at the Bethel Cemetery, Old Fields, WV. The family will receive friends from 4 – 7 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
