Rodney Norman Hutton, age 87 of Moorefield, WV, passed away Monday morning, September 28, 2026, at his residence. Born on March 7, 1939, in Rock Oak, WV, he was the son of the late William Elwood Hutton and Alma Alberta Craig Hutton. Two stepsons, Terry Delawder and Denny Delawder preceded him in death.

Rodney worked as a security guard with American Woodmark Corporation. He was a simple man who found joy in the things he loved most. He had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and could often be found hunting, fishing, or camping, enjoying the peace and beauty of nature. He also loved a good yard sale and never knew what treasure he might come across.

But perhaps what brought Rodney the greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren. He treasured those moments-the laughter, the stories, and the simple everyday memories they made together. His grandchildren held a special place in his heart, and the love he shared with them will remain a part of them forever.

Surviving is his loving wife of 40 years, Arvella Louise Malcolm Hutton; a son, R.J. (Brenda) Hutton; five daughters, Teresa Maddox (Kent), Tammy Swingle Carla), Anna Wilson (Donald), Rhonda Gasparo (Dan) , and Sharon George; sisters Dot Lambert and Judy Miller; 26 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be conducted 6:00 PM Friday, October 2, 2026, at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington Street, with Pastor Brad Taylor as officiant. The family will receive friends from 4pm until the time of the service on Friday.
