Samuel John Sherman
January 11, 1958 — December 29, 2021
Samuel John Sherman, age 63 of Backwoods Lane, Moorefield, WV, passed away Wednesday morning, December 29, 2021 at the Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg, WV. Born on January 11, 1958 in Moorefield, WV, he was the son of the late William Bowen Sherman and Helen Lee Runions Sherman. Three brothers, Orlando Sherman, Jackie “Friday” Sherman, and Tony Wimer also preceded him in death.
Sam was a loving, devoted husband, father, and Papo. He was an honest, caring man who would not hesitate to help anyone who needed it. He was the epitome of selflessness, leaving a void in the lives of all those who had the honor of knowing him.
Surviving is his wife of 41 years, Brenda Catherine Wimer Sherman; two sons, Shawn P. Sherman and Jeremy A. Sherman of Petersburg, WV; a daughter, Sacha S. Bucklew of Moorefield, WV; a brother, James B. Sherman of Moorefield, WV; a sister, Betty Capps of Angier, NC; twelve grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the Spring of 2022.
