Sheila Virginia Pratt

Sheila Virginia Pratt, age 76 of Moorefield, WV, passed into the arms of Jesus surrounded by family on December 6, 2023, at Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, VA. Born on October 14, 1947, along with her twin sister in Petersburg, WV, she was a daughter of the late Stanley Dewey See and Pearl Elizabeth Hahn See. Her loving son, Jeffrey G. Pratt also preceded her in death in January 1992.

Sheila was a devoted mother who dedicated her life to raising her two wonderful sons, and her love for them knew no bounds. She provided unwavering support, guidance, and encouragement, always ensuring that they felt cherished and loved. Sheila's role as a mother extended beyond her immediate family, as she embraced her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with the same love and care, making each and every one of them feel special and important.

Sheila spent her formative years attending Moorefield High School, where she developed a strong work ethic. She carried these values throughout her life, dedicating an impressive 31 years of service to American Woodmark. Her commitment and dedication were evident in every task she undertook.

Outside of her professional life, Sheila was proficient when it came to keeping her home and yard in impeccable condition. She took great pride in her beautiful garden, nurturing an array of vibrant flowers that flourished under her green thumb. Visitors to her home were always greeted by a warm and inviting environment that reflected her hospitable nature.

Sheila attended Moorefield Assembly of God Church, embraced her faith and was an active participant in Bible Study. She drew strength and inspiration from her spiritual community, finding solace and guidance during times of challenge. Sheila also had a zest for life's simple pleasures, enjoying meals out with loved ones and indulging in the thrill of uncovering hidden treasures at yard sales.

Driven by her faith, Sheila lived a life of spiritual devotion. She found solace in her beliefs and embarked upon each day with hope and optimism. Even in the face of illness, Sheila maintained a steadfast faith, never wavering in her conviction that healing was within reach and the promise that we will see her again.

Surviving is her son, Chad (Julie) Pratt of Moorefield, WV; a daughter-in-law, Heidi (Roy) Rogers of Buckhannon, WV; grandchildren, Patrick (Felicia) Pratt of Lost River, WV, Justin (Dora) Pratt of Weston, WV, Harlie (Ross) Lambert of Moorefield, WV and Danica Rogers of Hedgesville, WV; great-grandchildren, Natalie Ross, Adilyn Pratt, Arayah Weese, Cloud Lambert and Ivar Lambert. The joy also in her life was her little dog, Freckles. Sheila’s love extended to her sisters, Shirley Pratt (her twin) of Moorefield, WV, Sharon Champ of Old Fields, WV and Sandra (Joel) Stump of Moorefield, WV along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be conducted 1:00 PM Monday, December 11, 2023, at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington Street with Pastors Wade Armentrout & Dan Sterns officiants. Interment will follow in the Newhouse Cemetery near Moorefield. The family will receive friends from 3 – 5 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
