Shirley Mason Coon

Shirley Mason Coon, age 76 of Purgitsville, WV, passed away Sunday morning, December 18, 2011 at her residence. Born August 25, 1935 she was the daughter of the late Clarence O. & Esther R. (Disney) Merson. Her husband, Richard L. Coon, Jr. preceded her in death in September 1999. A son, Joseph M. Coon; a sister, Bertha V. Youse and a brother, James F. Merson also preceded her in death. Surviving are three sons, Richard L. Coon, III of Baker, WV, Paul E. Coon of Hagerstown, MD and Russell W. Coon of Purgitsville, WV; three sisters, Adelaide E. Harless of Bowling Green, VA, Mary P. Bromwell of Westminster, MD and Ann L. Puffinburger of Hanover, MD; three brothers Robert O. Merson of Hanover, MD, Paul W. Merson of Boonsboro, MD and Phillip D. Merson of Jessup, MD; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be conducted 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington St. Interment will follow at the Elijah High Cemetery, Junction, WV. The family will receive friends from 3:30 ? 6:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
